Deeply focusing on full-course tumor detection and diagnosis and precision medicine. On November 2-3, 2022, the 4th HIT Tumor Molecular Diagnostics and Companion Diagnostics Forum, hosted by MDx Vision, grandly opened in Shanghai. Dr. Song Lei, R&D Director of ProteinT (Tianjin) Biotechnology Co., Ltd., was invited to attend and give a report, bringing new multi-omics-based technologies and concepts. Renowned experts and leading companies from China's clinical tumor molecular and companion diagnostics fields gathered around four major topics—tumor early diagnosis and early screening, recurrence monitoring (MRD), precision medication, and companion diagnostic genetic testing—to discuss biomarkers, detection technologies, diagnostic strategies, drug development, and efficacy monitoring at different stages, and to jointly review new trends in the development of tumor molecular and companion diagnostics. This plays an important role in conducting comprehensive tumor research and building a complete technology chain from basic to clinical, integrating upstream and downstream.

Professor Ma Jie
In recent years, clinicians and researchers have explored experimental research, targeted immunotherapy, combination therapies, and other aspects, achieving important progress in tumor early screening and early diagnosis. This has deepened the medical community's understanding of early-stage tumors and laid the foundation for developing precise and effective treatments. At this forum, Professor Ma Jie, Director of the Department of Pediatric Neurosurgery and Discipline Leader at Xinhua Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, shared how methylation typing can be used to assess patient prognosis and, on this basis, to carry out more precise targeted therapy and immunotherapy to prolong the survival of children with tumors.

Professor Li Bin
Professor Li Bin, Distinguished Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Deputy Director of Research at the Shanghai Institute of Immunology, focused on new advances in research on the molecular mechanisms of the functional plasticity and stability of FOXP3+ regulatory T cells. Changes in FOXP3 protein levels that alter the functional stability of regulatory T cells are closely associated with various major immune-related diseases in humans. This will provide new ideas and new targets for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of related immune diseases.

Professor Song Ping
The research group of Professor Song Ping, Associate Professor at the School of Biomedical Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Head of the Nucleic Acid Biomedical Engineering Research Group, designed a multi-inhibitory probe technology based on the differences in hybridization thermodynamic energy among wild-type DNA, mutant DNA, and probes, achieving highly sensitive detection of low mutation frequencies and offering more possibilities for popularizing liquid biopsy in early cancer screening. In addition, representative companies from across the industry gave detailed presentations on various research advances and products in related fields, delivering a truly meaningful audiovisual feast for the scientific community.
Dr. Song Lei, R&D Director of ProteinT (Tianjin) Biotechnology Co., Ltd., spoke on the topic "Application of Protein Mass Spectrometry-Based Liquid Biopsy Technology in Tumor Molecular Diagnostics and Companion Diagnostics," proposing new methods and new concepts in the process of tumor molecular diagnostics. Dr. Song Lei pointed out that the laboratory has accumulated a rich database in the clinical diagnosis, treatment, and translation of tumors. Its self-developed nanomaterial-enrichment-based protein mass spectrometry liquid biopsy technology has broken the bottleneck constraining the development of proteomics technology, achieving the identification and quantitative analysis of 4,000+ blood proteins per single sample within a unit hour from a microliter-level blood volume. This enables more non-invasive acquisition of in-depth, precise biological information, and more precise product development and application for common tumors are underway. The related research results aroused great interest and discussion among the attending experts and brought more possibilities for subsequent industry-academia-research translation and the precise diagnosis and treatment of common tumors.

The development of tumor molecular diagnostics and companion diagnostics cannot be separated from continuous cooperation and breakthroughs. Focusing on tumor subfields and full-course tumor management, HIT 2022 held lively discussions on topics such as MRD detection, drug companion diagnostics, and emerging detection technologies, making it a widely watched industry event. As the 4th HIT Tumor Molecular Diagnostics and Companion Diagnostics Forum concluded successfully, ProteinT is also willing to carry out research with more universities and research institutions, jointly promote the translation of technology and products, and dedicate itself to applying leading technologies to the clinical diagnosis and treatment of common tumors and chronic diseases!
