The 2021 national clinical and research laboratory whole-exome sequencing external quality assessment (EQA) results were released recently.

      A total of 103 laboratories from 15 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) registered for this quality assessment activity. ProteinT Medical Laboratory (Tianjin BaoKang HeXin), through its outstanding technical capabilities, passed this assessment with the only Excellent result in the Tianjin region.

      The difficulty of this quality assessment was significantly higher than that of all previous assessments, with a large number of samples (12 samples) and a cumbersome assessment process including both dry and wet experiments; in addition to the routine mutation reporting, hidden assessment items such as sample repeat consistency were also added.
