Building strategic scientific and technological strength and strengthening the attack on key core technologies. Recently, the 2022 Tianjin Science and Technology Award winners were officially announced. The project "Establishment and Clinical Application of Key Technologies for Precision Diagnosis and Treatment of Glioma" won the First Prize of the Tianjin Science and Technology Progress Award. As a major undertaking unit, ProteinT was also commended for its innovation and contributions in the project cooperation, with founder and CEO Professor Li Jie listed as a main participant. In the future, ProteinT will continue to leverage its technological accumulation in the multi-omics field, aim at clinical needs, forge ahead with continuous innovation, and contribute to advancing precision medicine.

The Tianjin Science and Technology Award is established to commend and reward units and individuals that have made outstanding contributions to the scientific and technological progress and economic and social development of Tianjin. It encourages scientific and technological workers to keep their original aspirations in mind, remember their missions, persist in innovation, build an important source of independent innovation in China, accelerate the attack on core key technologies, strengthen the principal role of enterprises in innovation, stimulate talent vitality, enhance innovation capabilities, and promote the translation of achievements.
This "Establishment and Clinical Application of Key Technologies for Precision Diagnosis and Treatment of Glioma" project was initiated by Tianjin Medical University General Hospital. The project carried out corresponding research, patent authorization, achievement translation, and clinical application at four innovation points: the marker cluster related to postoperative glioma recurrence and the improvement of clinical diagnosis and treatment efficacy and decision-making for postoperative chemotherapy strategies; the applied research of the tumor CRISPR/Cas13a gene editing system; and the second-generation R&D process of original small-molecule drugs and combination therapy strategies.

Upholding its original aspiration and mission of "continuously creating market demand and continuously advancing medicine," ProteinT led the establishment of the Tianjin Key Laboratory of Clinical Multi-omics and has accumulated more than 100,000 clinical samples. It has established an intellectual property portfolio across seven modules—sample preparation, auxiliary materials, mass spectrometry detection, data analysis, and clinical application—and possesses full-process quality control capabilities. Focusing on clinical needs and continuously innovating technologies and developing and applying products, multiple products such as monitoring of stage I lung cancer recurrence risk have now entered the registration filing process. Its self-developed n-LAPE/MS™ next-generation nanomaterial-based low-abundance protein enrichment mass spectrometry analysis method has broken the technical bottleneck of blood proteomics, increasing the detected amount of blood proteins by more than tenfold, and greatly facilitating the discovery of new liquid biopsy biomarkers and drug targets for diseases such as tumors and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
For scientific and technological workers, continuous innovation is both a mission and a responsibility. Winning this First Prize of Science and Technology Progress is both a commendation and a spur for ProteinT. In the future it will constantly drive us to identify clinical pain points, continuously promote technological innovation and translational application, and enable more diseases to be detected and treated early, benefiting a wide range of patients.
