Xinhua News App, Tianjin, April 14 (Reporter Mao Zhenhua) — On the 14th, a signing ceremony was held in Tianjin for the "2026 Series of Public-Welfare Activities for Nutritional Screening of Tumor Patients," jointly initiated by Tianjin Science and Technology Press Co., Ltd. and Tianjin Science and Technology Translation & Publishing Co., Ltd., with Baize Medical Group as the implementing party and ProteinT (Tianjin) Biotechnology Co., Ltd. as the supporting party.
Tumor patients generally face the risk of malnutrition, which not only affects treatment tolerance but is also directly related to quality of life and survival. However, clinical nutritional screening has not yet been widely popularized, and the awareness of tumor nutrition among the public and some medical staff still needs to be improved.
As state-owned cultural enterprises mainly engaged in the publication of professional medical books, Tianjin Science and Technology Press Co., Ltd. and Tianjin Science and Technology Translation & Publishing Co., Ltd. have always taken it as their mission to disseminate authoritative medical knowledge and serve people's health. The series of public-welfare activities mainly includes: jointly planning and carrying out science-popularization lectures, and regularly conducting free nutritional screening for inpatient and outpatient tumor patients; developing simple and easy-to-use screening tools and piloting them in partner medical institutions; organizing training for medical staff on nutritional screening and intervention skills; and aggregating screening data to form a report on the nutritional status of regional tumor patients to support industry policy advocacy.
